UniSQ Japanese Garden QLD

UniSQ Japanese Garden QLD is a Japanese stroll garden on the northern side of the University of Southern Queensland campus in Toowoomba City. Opened in 1989, it covers more than three hectares and is also known as Ju Raku En. The garden is a prominent part of the Toowoomba campus and a regular destination during the Carnival of Flowers.

The garden includes a central lake with traditional red Japanese bridges leading to three islands. Its landscape features a mountain stream, waterfalls, cherry blossom trees, a bamboo avenue, a wisteria arbour, a dry garden, azalea hill and a tea house. More than 230 species of Japanese and Australian native trees and plants are represented throughout the grounds.

Visitors can use picnic facilities and shaded pavilions, seating areas, toilet amenities and easy parking near the southern entry gate. The garden has around 3 kilometres of paths for walking through the grounds. It is also used for weddings and other special occasions, with hire available for events held in the garden setting.
